Family safaris
By traveller
Shorter drives, family tents, and guides who are good with children.
Safari works brilliantly for families, provided the trip is built for them. That means shorter driving days, camps with family units or adjoining tents, a pool for the middle of the day, and a guide who will teach a nine-year-old to identify tracks rather than lecture about ungulate taxonomy.
Note that some camps set minimum ages, and a few walking activities are 12+. We will tell you upfront which places will and will not take your children.
