Tanzania is a big country and the transfers are long. Flying between camps converts a six-hour drive into a fifty-minute flight, which buys you an extra game drive at each end. It costs more and your luggage allowance drops to around 15 kg in a soft bag, but for shorter trips it is often the better use of money.
