Arriving on the calving grounds
The herds settle back onto the short-grass plains and the cycle begins again.
By December the herds are generally back on the southern plains, feeding up on the fresh short grass ahead of the calving. The circle closes.
Game viewing is very good and getting better through the month. Note that Christmas and New Year are peak-priced everywhere in Tanzania regardless of the wildlife season — camps charge a festive supplement and availability is tight.
