August is when the greatest number of animals are in the northern Serengeti and when crossings are most frequent. It is also the busiest and most expensive month of the year, and at a good crossing point you will not be alone.

Weather is at its best: dry, clear, cool at dawn, dusty by afternoon. Game viewing across the whole park is excellent because water is scarce and everything is concentrated.
